2026 Big East Power Rankings: Two weeks in
Weighing the conference's eight teams.
Welcome to our 2025 Big East Power Rankings. This is our 11th season covering UConn baseball game-to-game and the fourth on this newsletter. We’ll have plenty of content all season, so be sure to subscribe below.
The Big East knocked the UConn baseball team down a peg last year. After winning four straight Big East regular season titles and two Big East Tournaments while making four straight NCAA Tournament appearances from 2021-24, the Huskies struggled to keep that success going into 2025.
Creighton and UConn both finished 17-4 in the conference, so they shared the regular season crown. The Bluejays then waxed the field in the conference tournament, and the Huskies missed out on the big dance for the first time since 2017.
The underlying good news? Competition in the Big East is improving.
But how much improvement exists remains to be seen. The conference champion was the lone representative in last year’s NCAA Tournament, just as UConn was in 2021 and 2022.
